Frequently Asked Questions
Microblading is a semi-permanent Eyebrow Treatment used to enhance, reshape or create a natural looking appearance of the brows.
No. Eyebrow Microblading is a form of tattoo artistry. Unlike a regular tattoo where an electronic device is used to implant coloured pigment in the deeper dermal layers of the skin, Microblading is applied using a manual hand held tool to delicately place the coloured pigments directly beneath the skin surface. With microblading the application is much more shallow than with permanent tattoos, making the microblading procedure a more semi-permanent result. The use of the hand held tool in Microblading allows for a more controlled application using a technique that mimics a natural hair pattern giving a much more realistic, natural result than a tattoo.
The coloured pigment molecules will stay in the skin indefinitely, typically colour remains for several years, however the visible results will vary with each individual, depending on pigment colour choice (lighter shades can fade much quicker) age, medication, skin type and lifestyle. The results can also be dependent on following aftercare instruction.
There is no guarantee as each individual will respond differently. Maintenance colour retouch applications is advisable every 12-18 months.
After careful and precise facial measurements are taken, the new eyebrows are designed, individually tailored to each client face shape and style. Upon your approval the treatment area is numbed using a topical anaesthetic cream. After 20-30 minutes numbing time, the microblading application is carried out. This process typically lasts 15 minutes per brow.
Small hair strokes are drawn on and then applied directly beneath the skin surface using a small Microblade. The delicate and precise application allows for each hair stroke to be placed individually to create natural, perfectly shaped brows resulting in a completely unique look for each individual.

The area may feel a little tender for the first few hours after treatment. In some cases they can feel a little itchy as they heal over the first week. It is advised to follow your after care instruction to apply Vaseline during the first week. This protects and soothes.
The colour will appear darker than expected for the first 6-10 days but will soften and fade out as they heal.

No. The area around the brows may appear pink for up to 30 mins after treatment. This is mainly due to the threading of the brows and not the actual microblading application. You will be ready to show off your new brows as soon as you walk out the door.
Yes. A suitable colour will be chosen to match as close to your natural hair as possible. The coloured pigment used in tattooing and microblading are the same colours that are found in all retail makeup.
In some cases it is advised to choose colour that is a little lighter (only a shade or two) than your usual brow colour on your first application. It is easy then to darken them on your top up procedure if you wish.
Microblading has no effect on natural hair. If required your regrowth hair will be removed with thread before we begin to microblade. Your usual eyebrow maintenance (waxing/tweezing/threading) may still be required. )
Absolutely. Eyebrow microblading is ideal even if you have no natural hair. A completely new brow can be designed, unique to you.
It is advised you wait until after your pregnancy/nursing to have microblading.
During pregnancy there are changes to your hormones, blood volume and skin colour. Pigments may not settle well into the skin causing premature fading and difficultly in achieving your desired colour.
